A LOT OF TIMES THAT HAPPENED.

-- THAT HAPPENS.

THAT'S RIGHT.

AND YOU DON'T ENVISION WHERE YOU'RE GOING TO BE NEXT IN LIFE.

IF YOU SLIP UP HERE, IF YOU SLIP UP HERE, I MEAN THAT IS STILL A LONG WAY TO GO.

AND I THINK IN LOOKING AT THIS, LET'S THINK ABOUT IT AS FAR AS THE DIET.

WHAT IF I BRUSH IT ON ONE FOOT? SOMETHING I DO EVERY DAY, TIE IT TO SOMETHING YOU WANT TO DO.

OR IF YOU WANT TO IMPROVE YOUR RELATIONSHIPS AND SAY YOU CHECK YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA, INSTEAD OF CHECKING YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA, REACH OUT TO SOMEONE.

THERE ARE ALL KINDS OF THINGS.

TAKE SOMETHING YOU WOULD DO REGULARLY AND TIE SOMETHING YOU WANT TOCO.

YOU CAN REMIND YOURSELF.

OKAY, AND HOW ABOUT THE ROUTINE? THAT IS WHEN IT'S IMBEDDED IN THE ROUTINE.

THIS IS FUNNY.

TALK ABOUT THE INCREMENTAL STEPS.

I SAW MY BROTHER.

HE LOST WEIGHT.

I SAID HOW DID YOU LOSE WEIGHT? HE SAID I STARTED EATING A KLONDIKE EVERY DAY AFTER DINNER.

HOW DID YOU LOSE WEIGHT? HE SAID --.

THE ICE CREAM BARS? YES.

I USED TO EAT A BIG BOWL OF ICE CREAM AND I WENT DOWN TO A KLONDIKE AND LOST WEIGHT.

OH.

AND THERE WAS A SMALL INCREMENTAL STEP EASY TO DO AND THAT BASEBALL A PART OF A ROUTINE WITH A GOOD END.

THAT SOMETIMES SEEMS EASIER FOR MEN.

ABSOLUTELY.

AND --.

AND THAT WILL BE NO CHANGE.

AND THE OTHER, WE HAD REMIND, ROUTINE AND REWARD.

WHEN YOU MAKE A POSITIVE SMALL STEP, TAKE 30 SECONDS AND REMIND YOURSELF THAT YOU DID TAKE A STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION BECAUSE THAT WILL IMBED IT AND THAT WILL HELP YOU BUILD ON YOUR SUCCESSES.

AND WHEN WE'RE TALKING ABOUT ALL OF THIS STUFF, IS IT IMPORTANT TO MAYBE LOOK BACK AFTER OUR PERIOD OF TIME.

NOT AFTER A WEEK OR MONTH, WHEN WE'RE TALKING ABOUT THE REWARDS, LOOK BACK AFTER A YEAR OF MAKING THE SMALL STEPS IN.

SURE.

AND WE KNOW THAT SORT OF, YOU KNOW, TRACKING IT AND REMEMBERING IT'S A JOURNEY AND THAT YOUR PROCESS IS WHAT WILL ADD UP TO THE END GOAL.

3 Reasons NOT to Hire a Coach

How to be happy.

How to enjoy life.

My name is Elena Semenek and welcome to mychannel "Psychology of Happiness", where happinessis the purpose of life! Let's talk about "happiness" and "how to behappy in life".

Today, I have only one advice for you.

So in order to be happy, focus on things ifyou WANT to have, WANT to do versus some things that you HAVE to do or obligated to do.

And this advice has two components.

The component #1 is to figure out what youare missing in your life.

What elements do you need to add to your lifein order to be happy? What's gonna make you feel happy? Is it a relationship? Is it about a career? Is it about your friendship? Is it about something else? What is gonna make you happy? And you can say, Elena, I need several thingsin order to be happy.

I want to live in a nice house, drive a nicecar, have a better job, get more money, have a better relationship, and that's okay.

That's absolutely normal.

We do need several things in order to be happy,but out of all this spectrum of things, what's the most important for you right now, rightnow in your life? What's the most important? Component #2 is to focus on things that youWANT to have, WANT to do in your life versus something that you HAVE to do.

Things that you "have to do", you will still"have to do" them, for example, we have to go to work, we'll have to make money, willhave to pay bills.

We have to call our friends or have to callour relatives in order to keep the good relationship.

And sometimes you don't want to call yourrelatives.

Sometimes you don't want to call your friends,but in order to keep your friendship, you still have to listen to your friend's problemsand that's normal.

That's, that's life.

What I am offering you is to put all thosethings AFTER things that you WANT to have in your life.

So every morning when you wake up, spend 10,15, 20 minutes towards your goal, towards things that are going to make you feel happy.

For example, if it's about the relationship,maybe you can spend 15 minutes every day drinking coffee with your spouse, or maybe you canspend 15 minutes to write the note to your loved one and put it on the fridge.

If it's about your health, for example, youwant to improve your health, you want to have a new healthy lifestyle in your life.

Maybe every morning you're going to go fora walk or maybe for a run for 15 minutes.

So instead of thinking, that after work, Iwill go to the gym and I will train for two hours, maybe you can make 30-minutes windowin the morning and do some exercise because when we come back from work, we don't haveany more energy, we don't have time, we might be so tired.

So we don't want to do anything.

We just want to see it in front of the TVand relax.

That's why it's so important to spend five,10, 15, 20 minutes in the morning towards things that are going to make you feel happy.

So two components.

Component #1 is to figure out what you aremissing in your life, what gonna bring more happiness in your life, and step #2 is tofocus on that thing in the morning, every day, step by step, do a little movement towardsyour goal, towards your happiness.
